About This Group

Asatru, Norse Heathenism is frequently regarded as one of the Neopagan family of religions. However, many Asatruers prefer the term Heathen to Neopagan and look upon their tradition as, not just a branch on the Neopagan tree, but as a separate tree.

Unlike Wicca, which has gradually evolved into many different traditions, the reconstruction of Asatru has been based on the surviving historical record. Its followers have maintained it as closely as possible to the original religion of the Norse people.

Asatru is classified as a Reconstructionist religion.

    Heathen website of interest

Recently Jessica has been attending Kelly's rune classes and has been attending the rituals that the Kindred has held.

Kelly found her website and I must say I am very impressed with her work, especially her work with entheogens and using them in ritual.

As I have progressed within my coven work I am also progressing within the rituals, there are closed rituals even to the other coven members that I attend.

Within these rituals we use hallucinogenics with much success in deeper trance. It has enhanced my meditations, and my remote viewing is becoming more realistic to me to the point where I have felt the walls, or furniture of the building I am in.

You can find Jessica's work here: http://firefly.gydja.com/

Also starting in April on the 15th Jessica will be teaching a seidh class, if you are in the Ogden Utah area please stop by and attend these classes if you can.

This message was sent by Jessica the other day:

    Hello!

There has been interest expressed in a seidh class, so
I have offered to get this started. Seidh is a form
of Heathen magic that involves trance, faring forth,
and working closely with the wights (beings/entities)
all around us. In this class we will be exploring
Heathen cosmology, learning about the body, getting to
know the gods, building and maintaining healthy
relationships with the wights, and other practical
fundamentals of seidhwork. I am planning on a
six-month class of one meeting per month with homework
    done in between sessions.

Kelly has kindly offered his (and Luna's) home for us
to meet in; our first meeting is scheduled for Sunday
April 15 at 1 pm. I don't like operating on Pagan
Standard Time, so please take driving time and
    before-class smokebreaks into consideration. Feel
free to email me if you have any questions; all
questions regarding driving directions should be sent
to Luna or Kelly. I am driving from the University of
    Utah
campus, and would be happy to carpool with anyone
who's coming from Salt Lake City.

    Thanks!
    Sy
